Lo scorso maggio sono cresciuti del 66,9% in tonnellaggio gli ordini ai cantieri navali giapponesi
Il dato è raffrontato con il mese di maggio '98. Calo del 55,4% invece rispetto al mese precedente

Nello scorso mese di maggio gli ordini ricevuti dai cantieri navali giapponesi - secondo una rilevazione governativa - sono stati relativi alla costruzione di 18 navi di stazza superiore a 2.500 tonnellate e di lunghezza superiore a 90 metri, per complessive 485.615 tonnellate di stazza lorda. In confronto al mese precedente si è verificato un calo del 54,4 per cento del tonnellaggio ordinato all'industria navale giapponese, con 2 unità e 579.085 tonnellate in meno rispetto ad aprile. Nel raffronto con il mese di maggio del 1998 è stata invece registrata una crescita del 66,9 per cento. Questi dati sono riferiti ai contratti di costruzione approvati dal governo, con atto che avviene generalmente alcuni mesi dopo l'emissione degli ordini.
La Japan Ship Exporters' Association ha reso noto invece che lo scorso mese di maggio i cantieri membri dell'associazione hanno ricevuto ordinazioni per 16 navi di stazza superiore a 500 tonnellate destinate al mercato estero, per un totale di 669.000 tonnellate di stazza lorda.
