The Dutch group Royal Boskalis Westminster has partnered with the Saudi Rezayat Group to divest the terminal and the fleet of AHTS Smit, which has recently merged Boskalis ( of 25 January 2010), the Saudi Lamnaco, which is a 50:50 joint venture between Boskalis and Rezayat same.
Lamnaco acquire these assets and assets for about $ 450 million. The specification of all terminal activities of SMIT, with the exception of those made in Rebras, Brazil, and joint ventures in Egypt and Singapore (Keppel-SMIT), and eight of Anchor Handling, Towing and Supply Vessels that currently part of the SMIT Transport Division.
With these additional activities will have a total of 50 Lamnaco terminal related contracts, a fleet of over 150 ships and has over 2,000 employees.
