(DIS) closed the third quarter of 2026 with growing results
compared to the same period in 2025. In the quarter
July-September Net profit stood at €27.8 million
of dollars, up +14.3% compared to 24.3 million in the third
quarter 2025. EBIT and EBITDA also grew
respectively by +9.3% and +2.5% to 29.2 million and 40.2 million
dollars, while base Time Charter revenues remained
substantially stable at $67.0 million.
The performance appears particularly significant if we
Consider that the freight market, after the exceptional peaks
recorded in the second quarter,
normalized during the summer. DIS, which operates a fleet of products
Tankers with capacities between 35,000 and 75,000
tonnes deadweight, continued to benefit from
spot freight rates higher than those of 2025 and solid coverage
through time charter contracts.
Driving growth
of the second half of 2026 there was
especially the conflict in Iran and the consequent interruption of the
oil traffic through the Strait of Hormuz. To support
the market has further contributed to the sanctions against the
Russia, attacks on Russian refineries and the shortage of
globally refined products. In the third quarter, these
effects have diminished, but have not disappeared. The gradual
resumption of flows through Hormuz was accompanied by
persistent logistical inefficiencies, ship-to-ship transfers and
security issues that continued to support the market
of oil tankers.
