The German DHL Group closed the third quarter of 2026
with a significant improvement in economic results compared to
at the same time of the previous year. Between July and September
consolidated revenues reached 22.66 billion euros,
with an increase of +12.6% compared to 20.13 billion in the third
quarter 2025, while the operating result increased by
+16.2% from about 1.48 to 1.72 billion euros. The trend
positive was mainly supported by the activities
DHL Express, DHL Global Forwarding and DHL Supply Chain, which have
also benefited from an increase in volumes handled. Profit
net income was €992 million (+11.7%).
In the third quarter of this year, growth was particularly
in the international express delivery segments and
of international shipments, while contractual logistics has
confirmed a positive trend. Weaker, on the other hand, are the
results in the e-commerce and postal delivery segment and
parcels to Germany.
The DHL Express express delivery division has recorded a
revenue growth of over €1.1 billion, reaching
almost seven billion in the quarter (+19.2%). Even more
significant improvement in profitability: EBIT
from 692 million to 1.04 billion euros, with an increase
by +50.0%. This is the main contribution to the growth of the
consolidated operating result, with an additional 346 million euros
compared to the third quarter of 2025. According to the press release
by the company, the result also benefited from the targeted offer
for international shipments of heavy and urgent goods
for industrial customers. In addition, DHL benefited from
better saturation of the global network, management
tariffs and capacities and
structural cost containment measures carried out in the
last two years, and further support has come from the
temporary capacity limitations on the market
international air transport, which generated demand
intercepted through the proprietary network of the
division.
DHL Global Forwarding Division
achieved the highest percentage growth among the
main divisions of the group, with revenues up by +23.4%,
5.64 billion euros. EBIT grew by +32.8%,
from 195 to 259 million. The improvement affected
Both major modes of international transportation:
Revenues from the airline segment rose by +30.5%, to 1.91 billion
while those of maritime transport increased by
+26.8%, to 1.68 billion. Volumes also confirm the expansion
of activities: in the quarter DHL handled 497 thousand
tons of goods by air (+11.9%) and in maritime transport
Volumes amounted to 895 thousand TEU containers (+4.8%).
DHL Supply Chain, which specializes in contract logistics, has
recorded revenues of €4.94 billion (+12.0%). The result
rose to €301 million (+8.3%), showing
a smaller increase than turnover.
On the other hand, the results of DHL eCommerce, whose revenues fell
by -6.4% to €1.58 billion. Even more marked was the
Profitability decreased: EBIT decreased to 51
million euros (-71.0%). Post & Parcel Germany also
showed a non-dynamic trend: revenues remained
substantially stable having totalled 4.25 billion euros
(+0.3%), while EBIT decreased by -29.8% to €153 million.
The good performance of the main operating divisions
led the DHL Group to review for the second time in the course of the
forecasts for the year 2026. The new estimate indicates
an EBIT of more than seven billion euros, compared to the previous
target of over 6.5 billion.
