Next Thursday in the Chamber of Deputies the Union
Interporti Riuniti (UIR) will present its project
ELODIE (European Logistic Organized Data Interchange Environment)
which was born in July 2022 with the aim of creating a
digital federation of freight terminals, enhancing opportunities
offered by the investments of the National Recovery Plan and
Resilience, and which the UIR hopes will continue to be supported
from public resources. "We must have the ambition - he said
explained the president of UIR, Giampaolo Serpagli, announcing
the event - to transform this experience into a stable method of
planning. Public resources produce more
significant when they respond to a system strategy. To
This is what we hope that the next financing instruments will also
can enhance the capacity of freight terminals
aggregate around common projects. We don't need - he said
highlighted - of many digital infrastructures that do not communicate
but of a single vision capable of connecting the
existing infrastructures and make them protagonists of competitiveness
European Union'.
UIR underlined that the experience of ELODIE also assumes a
meaning that goes beyond the perimeter of the PNRR, as the method
of shared planning can in fact represent a
reference for future calls and investment programs,
national and European initiatives, encouraging coordinated initiatives between several
infrastructure rather than a multiplicity of interventions
isolated. "The real challenge - explained Serpagli - is not
only to invest more, but to invest better and above all
investing together".
The event scheduled at Montecitorio, in the Sala Giacomo
Matteotti, is entitled "UIR brings the network of
freight terminals in Europe with ELODIE, the digital federation of
intermodal logistics" and is organized with The
International Propeller Club - Port of Rome. The comparison at the
Camera will also offer the opportunity to deepen the
Contribution of digitalisation to the evolution of the system
Italian logistics, the role of PNRR investments and the new
methods of collaboration between ports and freight terminals.
