Last week, the shipyard Uljanik Shipyard has delivered to the shipping company Grimaldi la Grande Côte d'Ivoire, the latest in a series of seven ships, multipurpose facility built by the Croatian company in Naples. The unit, of 24,800 deadweight tons, can carry 3,890 vehicles and 1,360 containers. La Grande Côte d'Ivoire is 210 meters long and 32 meters wide and has a cruising speed of 21.9 knots.
The new ship has been entered in their service by Grimaldi Mediterranean Express (MEX), which links the Mediterranean and West Africa, making direct calls to ports of Salerno, Genoa, Marseilles, Valencia, Casablanca, Dakar, Lome, Lagos, Cotonou and Theme transshipment and through a number of other African ports.
In about 11 years the shipyard has built a total of Uljanik for 18 ships of the Grimaldi Group total capacity of 77,000 cars and 9,500 containers.
