Luka Koper asks the support for the local community and the Been about to one to develop the cruises



Luka Koper, the society that manages the port of Koper, has the intention of ulteriorly develop the crocieristica activity in the Slovenian port of call and with such objective it asks the support for the local community and the State. The president of Luka Koper has said past Wednesday, Bojan Brank, in the course of a convention on the fleeting development of the segment of traffic of the held port to organized Koper and from the society with the municipal administration of the Slovenian city in the within of the European project "Door".

"Luka Koper - it has found Brank remembering the participations carried out in port in order to develop such activity - has contributed with a dock part and has invested 1,6 million euros in the necessary activities of dredging. We believe in the project - he has added - and are absolutely ready to develop it ulteriorly. However - he has specified - we need assistance, so as of the support of the local community and the Been about to one resolving other problems, as for example the dredging of harbour waters and the development of harbour infrastructures".

In the course of the convention president of the Venetian Risposte Tourism, Francesco di Cesar, has introduced the results of the study "the passenger terminal of the Port of Koper. Perspectives of development in the crocieristica" realized from the Italian society on behalf of Luka Koper in the context of the European project ADRIA A. Di Cesare have emphasized that, beyond to being the crocieristico market in more fast increase, that of the Adriatic is the market that has also greater the potential one in all Mediterranean, but - because of the increasing competition of other destinations, so as of the competition between the same ports of the Adriatic - it is Koper that Slovenian tourism is found to a junction with regard to the way to ulteriorly develop the crocieristico field through the port of Koper.

"The construction of a passenger terminal - Di Cesare has explained - is not sufficient. To a host it must be offered a complete package, included innovative services and of qualities which supported from a good infrastructure". President of Answers Turismo has introduced various scenes: first he previews Koper as home port in which the cruise ships they receive services and supplies of edge and in which the passengers they embark themselves and they disembark from their cruises. The second represents an intermediate option, as port in which some passengers they disembark and do not continue the cruise or they are embarked for the prosecuzione of the crocieristico route. The third option previews that the situation remains as that current one, in which Koper is a simple port of port of call. The study finds as every scene demands determined conditions and as the government must decide towards which development course to address the field of the cruises in Slovenia.

Last year the crocieristico traffic in the port of Koper has been of 108.820 passengers regarding 37.264 passengers in 2010. The crocieristi in transit have been 103,505, those disembarked to 2,883 and those boarded 2,432 on a total of 78 ports of call of cruise ships regarding 54 in 2010.
