Bureau Veritas has closed 2013 with a profit clearly of 356,5 million euros (+16.0%)



The society of classification and certification Bureau Veritas (BV) has concluded 2013 with a profit clearly of 356,5 million euros on revenues for 3,93 billion euros, with increments respective of +16.0% and +0.8% regarding the exercise anniversary precedence. The operating profit is piled to 589,6 million euros (+13.8%).

In the course of the 2013 French company the societies have operated seven acquisitions buying 7Layers, Sievert, LVQ-WP Group, Kanagawa Building Inspection, CKM Consultants, Carab Tekniva Group and OTI Canada Group. To these the acquisition of the Canadian Maxxam Analytics is continuation that is completed last January ( on 23 December 2013). BV has specified that such acquisitions have contributed with a +2.8% to the organic increase of the volume of transactions of the group in 2013, that has been pairs to +3.5%, while the cessions happened in the course of the year (mainly reported to the Paymacotas Spanish and to the Anasol Brazilian) have determined a reduction of the -0,8% of the revenues.

Last year the single division Marine of the French group, that it supplies mainly services of naval classification, has recorded a rectified operating profit of 78,2 million euros on revenues for 294,2 million euros, with decreases respective of the -8,3% and the -7,2% on 2012.

Al 31 last December the fleet in Bureau Veritas class had a consistency of 10.519 ships for a total of 97,4 million tons of tonnage, with increases respective of +3.6% and +7.1% regarding 10.152 ships for 90,9 million tsl on December 31, 2012.

In the 2013 BV it has acquired new orders in the naval field for total 8,6 million tons of tonnage, with an increase of +88.6% on 2012. Such increment, that it follows two years of contraction of the orders - has found the French company - indicates a gradual resumption of the activities in the field of the new constructions. The consistency of the pocketbook orders of the group in the naval field on 31 December was pairs to 15,0 million tons of tonnage regarding 16,3 million tsl on December 31, 2012. Bureau Veritas previews that in the 2014 division Marine it will record an increase of the activity in the segment of the ships in service, while an increase in the segment of the new constructions in the second half of the year is attended.
