the Greek Superfast Ferries will realize a service USA-Cube ferry



Of recent the greater opening of the relations between the United States and Cuba they do not intend to only take advantage the crocieristiche companies, that they are inserting the island in their routes in the Caribbean region, but also companies of navigation that they want to establish regular connections between the USA and Cuba.

Between these last ones there are two Greek companies. One is the United Caribbean Lines (UCL), company that the Greek Alexandros Panagopoulos is under responsibility of, son of Pericles who has been founding of the Greek companies Blue Ferries Stars and Superfast Ferries that now take part of the Greek group Marfin Investment Group through controlled Attica Holdings. UCL has obtained from the department American of the Treasure the authorization to operate regular marine services between the USA and Cuba, lines that the company intends to start the next autumn for the transport of passengers and rotabili, in order then to extend the connections to Mexico. The program of United Caribbean Lines previews initially connections between the American ports of Miami, Tampa Bay and Port Everglades with the port of the Havana.

But it will be also the Superfast Ferries, up to now engaged in operating services between Greece and Italy in the Adriatic and national services of connection with the Greek islands, to start a service ferry between the United States and Cuba with the new brand SuperFast Cuba Ferries. The Attica Holdings group in fact has announced that the American department of the Treasure has authorized it to operate such connection for the transport of passengers and goods through the society integrally controlled Superfast Ferries (USA) LLC.

Attica has specified that in own fleet of 13 ferries there are ships with suitable characteristics for being employees on the USA-Cube route. In particular, the Greek group has specified to have characterized two ships to employ initially in the service, ognuna with an ability to 1.700 passengers, 700 beds and 2,000 linear meters of garage in a position to accommodating about 570 cars.
