In increase the containerized trade in the ports of Naples and Salerno



In the first ten months of the 2017 port of Salerno it has enlivened 12,6 million tons of goods, with an increment of +16.8% regarding 10,8 million tons in the January-October period last year. The goods to the disembarkation is piled to 6,4 million tons (+21.1%) and those to the boarding to 6,1 million tons (+12.6%).

The great part of the traffic enlivened totally from the port Salerno province is constituted by goods several that in the first ten months of this year has been attested 12,5 million to tons (+16.8%), of which 7,0 million tons of rotabili (+23.7%), 4,6 million containerized tons of goods (+11.7%) totaled with a handling of containers pairs to 373 thousand teu (+15.2%) - of which 278 thousand full (+15.6%) and 12 thousand empty (+14.3%) - and 842 thousand several tons of other goods (- 3.4%). In the field of the solid bulk the traffic has been of 107 thousand tons (+13.1%).

In the first ten months of this year the traffic of the passengers in the port of Salerno has been of 666 thousand people (+24.3%). In the segment of the cruises the passengers have been 65 thousand (- 41.1%).

Relatively to the port of Naples, than as Salerno is managed by the Authority of Harbour System of the Tyrrhenian Sea Central, the agency has not announced the volume total of the goods enlivened in the first ten months of 2017, but only given on handling of the container and the traffic of the passengers and the liquid bulk.

In the Neapolitan port the containerized trade has been pairs to 429 thousand teu (+7.5%), of which 222 thousand teu to disembarkation (+8.8%) and 208 thousand teu to boarding (+6.1%). Altogether the containers in transfer have been 24 thousand (+425.2%), while the traffic of import-export has been of 406 thousand teu (+2.7%), of which 319 thousand teu full (+3.6%) and 86 thousand teu empty (- 0.6%).

In the section of the passengers the traffic in the port of Naples has been of 6,1 million people (+2.8%), of which 5,3 million passengers of local services (+2.9%). In the field of the cruises the total has been of 872 thousand fleeting (- 31.6%).

In the segment of the liquid bulk the traffic has totaled 4,1 million tons, with a decrease of the -5,2% on the January-October period of 2016 and with a course differentiated between the various ones producing enlivened in the port of Naples: the which liquified natural gas is increased of +16.4% being piled to 865 thousand tons; down, instead, the oil produced ones refined (- 9.3%) and the other liquid bulk (- 12.8%).

Relatively to the trend negative of the crocieristico traffic in the two of Campania ports, the AdSP of the Tyrrhenian Sea Central has specified that the forecasts for the 2018 indicate that altogether between Naples and Salerno the traffic will be of beyond 1,1 million crocieristi, with a resumption regarding 2017.
