In June 2026, the port terminals of China Merchants Port Holdings Co. (CMPort) of China's China Merchants Group (CMG) have recorded a new historical record for monthly traffic of containers having handled a total of 13.5 million TEUs, with an increase of +5.8% on June 2025, of which 10.1 million TEUs handled in Chinese ports (+6.1%) and 3.4 million TEUs in the foreign terminals (+4.9%).

Also in the second quarter of this year, traffic reached a new all-time high having been equal to almost 40.2 million TEUs, up +4.7% on the same period of 2015 2025, with new historical peaks in volumes handled both in China and abroad, which amounted to 30.0 million TEUs (+5.1%) and 10.1 million TEUs (+3.3%).

Containerized traffic also handled in the first half of the year 2026 reached a record volume of 78.3 million TEUs, with an increase of +4.6% over the first half of 2025, with new both in traffic handled in China (58.6 million TEUs, +5.4%) and that handled abroad (19.6 million TEUs, +2,2%).
