by a total of 1,208 ships, with an increase of +20.7% on the
June 2025, of which 485 tankers (+18.6%) and 723 units of
other type (+22.1%). The SCNT tons of the total number of ships
amounted to €56.9 million (+42.2%) and the rights
paid by ships amounted to 22.2 billion
Egyptian pounds ($440 million) (+42.3%).
In the second quarter of 2026, the Egyptian channel was
crossed by 3,580 ships, with an increase of +16.5% on the
same period last year, of which 1,526 tankers
(+22.3%) and 2,054 ships of other types (+12.5%). The total of the
Suez Canal Net Tonnage of the ships transited stood at
163.9 million tonnes SCNT (+33.8%) and transit charges
paid in the last quarter April-June amounted to 66.6
billion Egyptian pounds (+35.4%).
