
In the second quarter of this year, the port of Ravenna
7.40 million tons of goods handled, with a decisive
up +10.9% over the April-June period of 2025, of which 6.51
million tons at landing (+11.6%) and 889 thousand tons
boarding (+6.5%). Liquid bulk cargo alone, with a total of 1.39
million tonnes, recorded a decrease of -3.4%, while
increased the volume of dry goods from cargoes
containerized, which stood at 670 thousand tons (+4.4%) with a
container handling of 59,453 TEUs (+2.9%), with the
rolling stock, moreover, which grew by +1.3% to 419 thousand tons
and with other dry goods which, with 6.22 million tons,
marked a more marked increase of +8.6%. In decision
the traffic of cruise passengers has also increased, which has been
123 thousand passengers (+58.6%).
In the first six months of 2026, the port of Ravenna
handled a total of 14.11 million tons of goods,
with an increase of +5.9% on the first half of last year
year, of which 12.45 million tonnes of cargo on landing
(+6.8%) and 1.66 million tons at loading (-0.4%). In the
Liquid bulk segment Petroleum products marked
an increase of +24.8% rising to 2.08 million tons,
while other loads decreased by -18.4% to 768 thousand
tons. Dry bulk cargo totaled 6.02 million
tons (+5.6%). In the miscellaneous goods sector,
1.27 million tons of container cargo handled
(+2.9%) with a container handling of 112,927 TEUs
(+1.5%), 838 thousand tons of rolling stock (+4.5%) and 3.13 million tons of
tons of other goods (+5.2%).
The Port System Authority of the Central Adriatic Sea
Settentrionale announced that in the port district of Ravenna
rail traffic in the first half of 2026 recorded
a total of 3,580 trains (-10.0%) and were transported via
train 1.76 million tons of freight (-7.5%).
Commenting on the traffic data for the first half of the year
this year, the president of the Port Authority, Francesco Benevolo, noted
the importance that "in this delicate phase of growth of the
port of Ravenna", 'the Ministry of Infrastructure and
the Emilia Romagna Region should support the important investments
necessary to complete the port hub and implement the
intermodal connection, so as not to slow down the development of
this essential national logistics node".
The port authority announced that the preliminary estimates relating to
as of July 2026, indicate a traffic of almost 2.5 million
of tons of goods, with an increase of +4.2% compared to
July 2025.
