EU looks for talks on 'aviation area' with America

THE European Commission is hoping to kick-start talks with Washington over the creation of a "transatlantic common area" for aviation as alarm grows in Europe over plans by the US Congress to rescue America's failing airlines with $15 billion of taxpayers' money.
