A feasibility study for a deepwater port serving southern Chile's Region IX has identified Punta Nihue as the most appealing site, Ismael Toloza, the region's economy minister, told BNamericas.

The study recommends a two-phase project for the port's construction, with a US$30mn first phase involving all basic infrastructure and a pier for handling bulk goods, followed by a US$20mn second phase that would add a pier for handling containers ......
