Export shipments drop by 15%

AMMAN - Incoming and outgoing shipments through Aqaba Port increased by 12 per cent in the first seven months of this year compared to the same period last year, official statistics showed Monday.

A government official who requested anonymity attributed the rise to oil shipments passing through the port since the war erupted in Iraq.

"Jordan has relied on its sole port to receive oil shipments which until now has reached nearly two million tonnes," he noted ......
