The government has stepped up efforts to funnel cargo traffic between Southeast Asia and Europe through Russia to compete with longer routes that circumvent its territory, but to accomplish this, the country's transport infrastructure must be improved, Deputy Transportation Minister Chingiz Izmailov told reporters Monday.
