Big Pasco's barge terminal has grown bigger over the years. Now the question is, is it big enough for Boeing? For decades, Mid-Columbia farmers and tenants at the Port of Pasco's Big Pasco Industrial Area -- from Japanese hay cooperative Zen-Noh Hay Co. to crane manufacturer Lampson International -- have used the port's Columbia River barge terminal to ship products around the world.
"This river is a remarkable resource for the community," said Jim Toomey, Port of Pasco executive director.
The Port of Pasco has invested millions of dollars over the last five years to improve the barge terminal, which has seen outgoing cargo almost triple in volume over the same period
