High gas and steel prices are to blame for the Salvadorian government's decision to postpone the La Unión (formerly Cutuco) port construction start-up, El Mundo quoted port authority Cepa president Miguel Ángel Salaverría as saying.
The government is talking with three groups - one Belgian-Japanese consortium (Toa Corporation-Jan De Null), a Japanese consortium (Penta Ocean-Hazama) and a Japanese firm (Wakachiku) - about construction offers, Cepa communications manager Xenia Contreras told BNamericas.
