Durban - Preparations for the R1.5 billion project to widen and deepen the Durban harbour mouth, which will begin next April and is expected to take 18 months to complete, is one of several projects under way or due to commence that will transform the port.
Basil Ndlovu, the National Ports Authority (NPA) manager for the Durban harbour, said last week the NPA would contribute R1.25 billion to the project.
The remainder would be paid by the eThekwini municipality
