A BD80 million reclamation, dredging and harbour wall construction work for the Khalifa bin Salman Port in Hidd is to be completed in August, four months ahead of schedule, it was revealed yesterday.
However, it may take another two years before the new port starts receiving ships.
Infrastructure work, including the construction of the port buildings, is now being reviewed in the light of the early completion of the dredging and reclamation work, said Works and Housing Ministry Assistant Under-Secretary for Administration and Finance Mohammed Khalil Al Sayed
