ASTORIA, Ore. (AP) - On Sept. 27, when three cruise ships moor here, there will be enough passengers to nearly double the population of Astoria, a historic port whose population has dwindled to 10,000.
Astoria's resurgence as a port is a sign of an overall shift in the Northwest cruise industry.
