Port privatisation to stall amid opposition

A committee formed recently by the Government to oversee the privatization of the container terminal at Mombasa Port is facing difficulties, which could see the process stall.

Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) managing director Mr Abdalla Mwaruwa said the committee, chaired by Investment Secretary Mrs Esther Koimett, is faced with political interference and opposition from other influential interested parties, led by the Dock Workers Union ......
