FMM against Johor Port, PTP consolidation

KUALA LUMPUR: The Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers (FMM) Johor branch is opposing a proposed port consolidation plan involving Johor Port and Port of Tanjung Pelepas (PTP).
In a statement yesterday, FMM Johor said the proposal would involve Johor Port, which is located in the Pasir Gudang Industrial Zone (PGIZ), being dedicated to handling only bulk cargo while PTP would serve as a dedicated container port, with effect from Jan 1, 2010 ......
