The Danish company with a double stop in the port of Genoa for weekly services from the Far East and the United States. Last March, in fact, the company had joined in the consolidated WestMed, service MedGulf for the United States, effectively doubling the weekly calls from Genoa and Livorno to the east coast of the U.S. (Newark, Norfolk, Savannah, Port Everglades) and Gulf Coast (New Orleans, Houston).
In addition, since last April 21 at the traditional service AE11 (made shorter than a day in import) has been added AE15 service that provides a direct connection to all major sources of the Far East (including three ports in China - Ningbo, Nansha, Xiamen - a port in South Korea - Kwangyang - and one in Vietnam - Vung Tau), as well as the most important ports of China and Southeast Asia.
Finally in January Maersk Line had reviewed the AE12 service linking the Far East every week in the North Adriatic, with direct calls at Trieste, Koper and Rijeka, adding a second touched in Trieste.
"It's just the latest significant step with a view to strengthening our services in Italy and improving the customer experience," said the managing director of Maersk Italy Spa, Todd Pigeon.
