Last month, the port of Barcelona has handled 3.44 million tonnes of cargo, with an increase of 2.8% compared to April 2010. In the area of cargo traffic was 2.28 million tonnes (+1.4%), of which 1.54 million tons of containerized cargo (-0.1%) and 744mila tonnes of conventional cargo (+ 4.8%). The container handling in terms of units from 20 feet (TEUs) was equal to 155,986 teu (+2.6%).
In the field of liquid bulk traffic was 927mila tonnes (+8.0%), of which 777mila tonnes of oil (+4.5%) and 150 thousand tonnes of other goods (+30.4%). The traffic of dry bulk cargo totaled 230 thousand tons (-3.1%).
The passengers were a total 336mila units (+16.2%), of which 216mila cruise passengers (+19.8%) and 121mila passengers on regular routes (+10.4%).
In the first quarter of 2011 amounted to a total traffic of 14.52 million tonnes, an increase of 9.4% over the same period last year.Miscellaneous goods stood at 9.59 million tonnes (+11.2%), of which 6.81 million tonnes of cargo in containers (+15.6%) and 2.78 million tonnes of conventional cargo (+1.2%). During the period, handled 695,016 container TEUs (+18.1%).
In the quarter totaled liquid bulk 3.90000000 tonnes (+7.8%), of which 3.35 million tonnes of oil (+9.0) 555mila and tons of other liquid bulk (+1.4% ). The dry bulk cargo were 1.02 million tonnes (-0.2%).
In the first four months of this year, passenger traffic was 665mila units (+13.4%), of which 408mila cruise passengers (+18.1%) and 257mila ferry passengers (+6.5%).
