The Italian for a total value of $ 600 million. The company has acquired from Eni a contract for the charter of the drilling Saipem 10000, which extends the use for 24 months starting in August 2012. Saipem 10000 drillship is an Ultra deep water capable of operating up to 10,000 feet of water depth with a dynamic positioning system.
Also as part of the offshore drilling Saipem by Addax Petroleum has acquired the contract for the extension of the rental of drilling rig Scarabeo 3 for a period of six months from November 2011.
Saipem has also finalized the NDC contract extension with the charter of the jack-up Perro Negro 2 for a period of 12 months from the second quarter of 2011, for drilling activities in the waters of the United Arab Emirates. Perro Negro 2 is a jack-up capable of operating up to 300 feet of water depth.
Onshore drilling, Saipem has signed new contracts for 15 rigs in Saudi Arabia, South America and Kazakhstan.
In Saudi Arabia, Saudi Aramco has awarded Saipem the contract for the lease of four rigs, three for a period of three years, beginning in the fourth quarter of 2011, and one for one year from the third quarter of 2011.
In Peru and Colombia, Saipem has been awarded with various clients, new contracts for the use of a total of nine plants, for a duration of between four and 12 months, which will begin at various dates during 2011.
Finally, in Kazakhstan have been awarded two contracts for the lease of two drilling vessels of the duration of four and 12 months, starting from the fourth quarter of 2011.
