Today, the Port Authority of Trieste and the Financial Police have signed a new memorandum of understanding renewing the one already in place in the period 2005-2008, which has now been expanded and integrated in the light also of the regulatory changes have occurred, and which aims to optimize their activities within the port of Trieste.
The protocol provides for the sharing of that information from databases on observable trades, transactions and other data of interest related to activities within the seaport. Everything is designed to maximize the efficiency of the port through the adaptation, development and sophistication of the devices connected to the road network and logistics management "company port", including by implementing the optimization of procedures for the supervision and control.
The port authority of Trieste has specified that this form of collaboration will strengthen further through the instrumental and successful use of advanced potentials arising from the computerization of procedures for the introduction and / or exit of goods from the port Julian, characterized by the status of "the Free". With the protocol signed today the two institutions agree, in fact, accurate ways of working together in a shared commitment to adopt procedures and operating procedures should they become necessary to improve the overall functioning of the port of Trieste.
The duration of the protocol has been set at four years and the agreement may be tacitly renewed for four years, not renewable. It has been established, then, the reference to specific "technical protocols", in relation to certain areas of common interest, to define the implementation modalities of the agreement.
