The Chilean shipping company Compañía Sud Americana de Vapores (CSAV) has announced that it has been signed for 85% of the capital under the first stage of the procedure, which produced a subscription sum of $ 430 million. "In the first phase of the considerable interest of shareholders to subscribe the remaining shares - the company said in a statement - confirming that the issuance of 500 million dollars will be fully subscribed."
Meanwhile CSAV continues the restructuring of its maritime services with the suppression of other lines. After discontinuing the service Mare Nostrum, which links the Far East with the Mediterranean ( of 5 July 2011), the company announced the suspension of its service NACS that connects the western coasts of North America and Latin America.The last departure of the northbound line will be next Saturday from Iquique, and the last southbound will take place on July 30 from Vancouver. CSAV also has suspended its service ASIAM connecting the Indian subcontinent, Southeast Asia and China with the U.S. West Coast.
