In the second quarter of this year trade between the world's major economies of the G7 nations (Canada, France, Germany, Japan, Italy, UK and USA) and the BRICS (Brazil, China, Russia, India and South Africa ) recorded only a slight increase of 1, 1% compared to +10.1% in the previous quarter. The announcement was made today, the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) stated that the overall growth in exports has dropped to 1, 9% from +7.7% in the first quarter of 2011.
In particular, China's imports have increased by 0.7%, compared to +11.1% in the first quarter of this year, while exports increased by 10.0% lower than the rate equal to +2 , 9% in the first quarter of 2011.
In the second quarter of this year, U.S. imports grew by 3.0% compared to +11.1% the previous quarter, while export growth decelerated to 2.6% from 5.6% the previous quarter .
Compared to the first quarter, second quarter growth in both imports and exports has slowed in all countries of the G7 and the BRICS with the exception of Brazil, where imports increased by 11, 2 % (+5.7% compared to the previous quarter), and China.
