The German Demag Cranes has obtained an order of the Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) for the supply of two new Gottwald HMK 170 self-propelled cranes that will be used in the port of Mombasa. The media, which have a lifting capacity of lifting 63 tons and a reach of 36 meters, will be delivered by the end of this year.
"The two self-propelled cranes - said the technical services manager of the KPA, Abdullahi Samat - have operational flexibility and, in addition to conventional cargo, containers can move. With the modernization of our equipment, cranes are an essential element to further increase the productivity of the port of Mombasa and develop the airport into a center of traffic more efficiently. Already in 2010 we are working with self-propelled cranes Gottwald, with whom we have had excellent results. "
The German company is gradually increasing its presence in Africa, which markets the last five years has delivered more than 50 self-propelled cranes.
