The logistics group Kuehne + Nagel has opened a new logistics center in its Colombian port of Cartagena is located in the Conteca of terminal (Terminal de Contenedores Sociedad de Cartagena), the entrance to the port and industrial area of Cartagena. The structure, which stores a total of 10,000 square meters with possibility of extension up to 20,000 square meters, will be used by the group as its regional hub Helvetic logistics in South America.
Kuehne + Nagel has pointed out that Conteca is currently strengthening its container terminal, which covers an area of 90 hectares, to enable it to operate ships of 12,000 TEUs of capacity by 2013.
All'nizio this year the group Kuehne + Nagel has bought two companies in Colombia, the SAS and the Agencia de Translago Aduanas Excelsia Ltda, both specialized in logistics of perishables.
