Initiative in order to promote the partial transfer of the transport from the rubber to the track



The ministry of the Atmosphere has signed with the railway society Trenitalia and the society of Autamarocchi road haulage a protocol of understanding with the objective to promote the partial transfer of the transport of the goods from the street modality to that railway one. The agreement - it has explained the ministry - joins in the picture of strategic objectives for the Country and the atmosphere that they preview "to carry the incidence of the transport goods on track from current 6% to 24%, to reduce the provoked environmental impact from the traffic of heavy means on the territory and, consequently, the emissions of carbon dioxide, thin powders and other polluting emissions, to gradually pull down the external costs that weigh on the atmosphere, until a 57% of the current value, with a saving around the three billions of euro the year".

"The two societies that has undersigned the understanding with the ministry of the Atmosphere, considered under the aspect of the volumes enlivened in the within of the Italian market and in the respective foreign relations - have still explained the ministry - they inside represent a meaningful segment of the national scene, with important possibilities of incidence on the mechanism of the modal transfer road/railroad of the traffic of the goods and the intermodal cargo units, harmonizing and favoring the integrated cycle. Joining to the understanding the societies they are engaged to agree and to develop - ognuna for own which aimed at directed one of competence - a careful and punctual verification of the economic parameters and street and railway transport costs of the goods on the national territory, with particular reference to the promotion of "arranged" services. The objective of the common job will be also that to formulate a picture of proposals and actions to subject the government, in the within of periodicals legislative provisions and economic faces to support the activity of the transport, finalized to a remodeling of the support forms, in order more better to compensate the burdens of the road haulage on the distances short beam and to stimulate the average reconversion of the park online with the standards Euro 5/5EEV and, from 2014, Euro 6".
