Traffic goods in decrease in the Spanish ports of Algeciras and Barcelona to July



Last month the traffic of the goods enlivened from the Spanish ports of Barcelona and Algeciras has turned out in decrease regarding July 2014.

In the Catalan port is enlivened 3,9 million tons of cargos, with a bending of -12,6% regarding the almost 4,5 million one tons in the July last year. The decrease is determined by the strong contraction of the bulk volumes, that they are come down to 892 thousand tons in the segment of liquid bulk (- 36.7%) and to 360 thousand tons in the field of the solid bulk (- 25.1%). The traffic of the goods several instead has grown of +2.7% to 2,7 million tons, of which beyond 1,6 million containerized tons of goods (+2.6%) and 1,0 million conventional tons of goods (+2.9%). The traffic of the passengers is increased of +12.5% to 466 thousand people, of which 288 thousand crocieristi (+13.6%) and 179 thousand fleeting of ferries (+10.7%).

To July the 2015 port of Algeciras has enlivened 8,1 million tons, with a reduction of -3,7% regarding the 8,4 million one tons in the same month last year. The liquid bulk is diminished of -10,7% to the 2,2 million one tons, while the bulk sand banks has recorded an light increase of +1.2% to 233 thousand tons. The goods several has totaled 5,2 million tons (+3.9%), of which 4,8 million containerized tons of goods (+4.2%).

In the first seven months of the 2015 port of Barcelona has enlivened a total of 26,6 million tons of goods, in increase of +0.3% on the January-July period last year. The several goods is increased of +6.3% attesting itself 17,2 million to tons, of which 10,7 million tons of goods in container (+6.0%) pairs to 1.115.596 (+4.8% realized with a handling of containers) and 6,4 million conventional tons of goods (+6.9%). The passengers have been totally almost 1,9 million (+6.1%), of which 1,3 million crocieristi (+7.5%) and 607 thousand fleeting of regular lines (+3.2%).

In the first seven months of this year the port of Algeciras has enlivened 55,4 million tons of goods, with a decrease of the -3,2% on the same period of 2014. The goods several pairs to 35,0 million tons (- 5.2%), of which 30,7 million containerized tons of goods (- 6.4%) totaled with a container handling have been pairs to 2.475.848 teu (- 9.2%) and 4,4 million conventional tons of goods (+4.1%). The liquid bulk is piled to 16,0 million tons (+4.2%) and the solid bulk than more 1,2 million tons (+41.2%).
