In the third Finnlines trimester record of 24,7 million euros has recorded a profit clearly



In the third trimester of this year the company of Finnlines navigation of the Neapolitan shipowning group Grimaldi has recorded a profit clearly record of 24,7 million euros, in increase of +36.0% regarding 18,1 million euros in the period July-september of 2014. The revenues are diminished of the -3,8% attesting itself to 138,2 million euros and the operating profit is increased of +27.0% totaling 29,0 million euros.

"The result of 24,7 million euros of the third trimester - it has emphasized today the president and managing director of Finnlines, Emanuele Grimaldi - is the best one turned out than always. The result of the period January-september of 41,1 million euros - it has added - is a remarkable result taking into consideration the slow down of the Finnish economy, the endorsements to Russia and the work in basin for the potenziamento of 17 ships".

The economic result clearly of 41,1 million euros recorded from Finnlines in the first nine months of 2015 turns out advanced of +23.8% regarding 33,2 million euros achieved in the same period of 2014. The revenues of the first nine months of this year have shown a bending of the -5,7% coming down to 390,3 million euros, while the operating profit has grown of +10.1% to 53,0 million euros.

"The sequence of important performances of the group - it has evidenced Grimaldi - is yields in the past of various under way actions, of which some of more strategic character and some than more operating character. In the first place - it has explained - in the past decade the group has invested beyond a billion of euro in own fleet and now it has the young and more modern fleet regarding all the competitors in the Baltic Sea. In the second place this investment of a billion of euro is accompanied by the decision strategic to stop the property of all the ships and to avoid to take rental a single ship. This offers the flexibility necessary in order to manage the ability to the ships in the optimal way in this activity, that it is cyclical. The company - it has observed Emanuele Grimaldi - more is not been dependent on a market of the volatil chartering and can buy the ships that better satisfy the requirements of own customers and that they are economically more efficient to operate. Moreover it can sell the ships that are not cost-efficient and that they do not satisfy the objectives in terms of profit of the vital employee. In third place, in the years the group has focused on the improvement of own position financial institution and on the strengthening of own patrimonial situation having assigned to all the cash flow in excess after the contemporary and important performance of the investment program of a billion of financial euro to reduce own indebtedness and to increase the quota vital own. In fourth place we are getting ahead our investment program in environmental technologies of the value of 100 million euros installing scrubbers on the ships that still are deprived some, investing in the propulsion and the king-blading, in silicone paintings for the hulls of the ships for a better economizzazione of the fuel and for the atmosphere. Fifth: the program of reorganization in course has determined a great improvement of our operating efficiency and our efficiency relatively to the costs, even if in future it is necessary to continue to concentrate itself on the costs in every field".

In the third trimester of this year the ships of the Finnish company have transported 196 thousand passengers (185 thousand in third trimester 2014), 159 thousand cargo unit (161 thousand), 38 thousand car (22 thousand) and 513 thousand tons of goods (609 thousand). In the first nine months of the 2015 fleet of Finnlines it has transported 453 thousand passengers (450 thousand in the same period of 2014), 472 thousand cargo unit (486 thousand), 112 thousand car (61 thousand) and 1,5 million tons of goods (1,8 million).
