Deep European for the requalification of the waterfront naval of Carrara



The Authority of Harbour System of the Ligurian Sea Oriental has obtained the approval of the financing for called project MARBLE "Maritime port Landside Bridging infrastructure", relative to the improvement of accessibility of the port naval of Carrrara, in the within of the ban Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) Transport call 2019, classified one to the Comprehensive ports of the net TRIES.

The project has as general objective that to improve the connection between the port naval of Carrara and the street and railway nets of transport. In particular, the financing obtained with project MARBLE will cover part of the relative costs to the work of adaptation of the multimodale system of access to the port and of necessary the marine structures for their mass in safety. Such work re-enters in withins 1 and 2 of the Waterfront project of the port naval of Carrara, whose iter of approval it is already in advanced phase. The project will have lasted of about two years (December 2019 - september a 2021) and total of eligible costs of 11,3 million euros, of which almost 2,3 million co-financed from ban CEF.

"The obtaining of this financing - it has emphasized the president of the AdSP, Carla Roncallo - represents an important result indeed as it will give a fundamental contribution to the projects of development of the Authority of Harbour System and in particular to the requalification of the Waterfront naval of Carrara the whose work will involve considerable benefits are from the point of view of the management of the goods in income and exited from the port above all for the relative traffics to the situated industrial zone close of the port, it is from the point of view of the quality of the life for the population. The obtaining of this financing - it has added Roncallo - is moreover reason of great satisfaction for our agency because MARBLE is the first approved of communitarian project, from when is instituted the Authority of Harbour System, that it regards the port naval of Carrara and this will contribute to giving comprehensive European visibility also to our port. This aspect, than I hold to us to emphasize, testifies the great job carried out from the offices of the AdSP in optical of integration and synergy between the ports of La Spezia and Marina di Carrara also in the field of the communitarian planning".
