In November the traffic of the goods in the Ligurian ports of Genoa and Savona-Vado has grown of +6.7%

In addition, if the only port of Savona-Vado Ligure, with 1.24 million tons handled in November 2021, recorded a decrease of -5.9% on November 2020 and an increase of +2.4% on November 2019, instead the port of Genoa, with 3.97 million total tons, has marked an increase of +11.4% on the November 2020 and a decrease of -0.4% on November 2019.

In particular, last November the port of the Ligurian capital has enlivened 2.68 million tons of various goods, with a reduction of -1.3% on November 2020 and a contraction of -3.2% on November 2019, including 1.83 million tonnes of goods containerized (respectively -3.7% and -4.0%) made with a handling of containers equal to 194 thousand teu (-6.7% and -2.7%) and 851 thousand tons of conventional goods (+4.3% and -1.5%). In the liquid bulk sector the traffic of mineral oils is state of 963 thousand tons (+59.9% and +6.2%), that of oils vegetables and wine of 28 thousand tons (+84.3% and +35.0%) and traffic of chemical products of 34 thousand tons (-1.9% and -27.4%). In the dry bulk sector commercial traffic was of 63 thousand tons (+91.5% and +6.8%) and the industrial one of 141 thousand tons (+26.0% and +20.0%).

Last November in Savona-Vado Ligure the only traffic of miscellaneous goods amounted to 616 thousand tons (+2.1% on November 2020 and +38.5% on November 2019), of which 330 thousand tons of rolling stock (respectively -4.6% and -7.5%), 243 thousand tons of goods in container (+17.9% and +427.0%), 27 thousand tons of fruit (-9.4% and +2.1%), 12 thousand tons of forest products (-36.3% and +34.3%) and 3 thousand tons of steels (+12.9% and -53.6%). In the segment of liquid bulk 466 thousand tons were handled (-13.4% and 17.7%), of which 432 thousand tons of crude oil (15.7% and 18.2%), 29 thousand tons of refined petroleum products (+44.8% and -12.2%) and 6 thousand tons of other cargoes (-12.9% and -5,2%). Solid bulk stood at 155 thousand tons (13.9% and -23.0%), including 53 thousand tons of coal (+3.2% and -57.7%), 32 thousand tons of cereals and oilseeds (+3.2% and -57.7%), 27 thousand tons of minerals (+88.7% and +54.7%) and 42 thousand tons of other dry bulk (-14.6% and +9.7%).

As for passenger traffic, in November 2021 the port of Genoa counted 54 thousand cruise passengers (respectively +1,001.5% and -58.8%) and 49 thousand ferry passengers (+116.2% and +1.5%), while the port of Savona-Vado has totaled 30 thousand cruise passengers (+1,523.9% and -40.6%).

In the first eleven months of this year the two ports administered by the Port System Authority of the Western Ligurian Sea have handled a total of 59.17 million tonnes of goods, with an increase of +11.0% on the same period of 2020 and a decrease of -5.6% on the same period of 2019, of which 45.60 million tons handled by the port of Genoa (+11.0% and -7.5%) and 13.57 million tons from the port of Savona-Vado Ligure (+11.0% and +1,4%). In the passenger sector both ports have enlivened 566 thousand cruise passengers (+178.1% and -71.0%) and 1.81 million ferry passengers (+38.4% and -26.1%).
