In 2021 the revenues of the Cargotec group grew by +2%

While together with his compatriot Konecranes is waiting of news on their merger plan, which as made known today from the two companies is encountering obstacles ( of 3 February 2022), also Cargotec as Konecranes has communicated today the financial and commercial results obtained by the group in the 2021 and in the last quarter of the year. An annual exercise that Cargotec filed with revenues of 3.31 billion euros, with an increase of +2% on 2020, of which 1.51 billion contributed by the Kalmar brand that produces lifting equipment for sectors port, intermodal, logistic and industrial (-1%), 1.25 billion from the Hiab brand that produces lifting equipment for the sectors of construction, transport and other industrial sectors (+14%), and 553 million euros from the MacGregor brand active in the field of handling equipment and systems for ships and offshore installations (-14%). Group operating profit was EUR 335.7 million of euro (+405%), with a contribution of 344.6 million from Kalmar (+457%), of 144.7 million from Hiab (+49%) and a negative contribution for -40.0 million from MacGregor (-48.2 million in 2020). Net profit is amounted to 246.7 million euros (+2,984%).

In 2021 Cargotec obtained new orders for a total value of 4.43 billion euros (+42%), of which 2.06 billion for Kalmar (+48%), 1.71 billion for Hiab (+42%) and 651 million for MacGregor (+28%). New orders for services amounted to 1.16 billion of euros (+18%). At 31 December, the value of the orderbook was of 2.85 billion euros (+56%), of which 1.30 billion for Kalmar (+55%), 958 million for Hiab (+96%) and 560 million for MacGregor (+17%).

In the last quarter of last year alone, total revenues amounted to 910.2 million euros, with a growth of +4% on the same period of 2020, of which 430 million generated by Kalmar (+5%), 339 million from Hiab (+15%) and 141 million from MacGregor (-16%). Operating profit was 8.3 million euros (-53%), which 33 million from Kalmar (+67%), 34 million from Hiab (+36%) and with a negative contribution for -32 million from MacGregor (-13 million in fourth quarter of 2020). Cargotec closed the last quarter of 2021 with a net loss of -8.2 million euros compared to a net profit of 6.6 million in the corresponding period of the year previous.

In the fourth quarter of 2021, new orders totaled 1.05 billion euros (+9%), of which 513 million for Kalmar (+15%), 384 million for Hiab (-8%) and 153 million for MacGregor (+53%). The new orders for services amounted to 308 million euros (+16%).
