DSV has a record year in both financial and operational performance

A complaint that seems to be taking hold among the companies that during the pandemic, in spite of almost all of the others, achieved record financial results, almost at justify their gains obtained - they seem to say in defense - with hard work needed to cope with adversity.

Already because, in the face of the grains mentioned by Andersen, DSV closed 2021 with financial performance record. Revenues, first of all, which amounted to 182.3 billion Danish kroner (€24.5 billion), value never reached in precedence and higher by +57.3% compared to that of the year 2020. In particular, air shipping activities and marittima operated by the group have yielded revenues of 131.9 billion Danish kroner (+79.0%), road shipments revenues equal to 35.4 billion (+16.5%) and other logistics activities revenues of 18.7 billion Danish kroner (+28.2%). The EBITDA of Group amounted to DKK 20.4 billion (+50.5%) and operating profit at 16.2 billion (+70.4%), with contributions of 12.8 billion from air and sea shipments (+81.7%), of 2.8 billion from road shipments (+33.6%) and 3.6 billion from other logistics solutions (+52.9%). DSV closed the financial year annual 2021 with a net profit of 11.2 billion Danish kroner, with an increase of +164.3% on the previous year.

Last year the volume of air shipments handled by DSV was a record 1.5 million tons (+18.7%), while that of maritime shipments is status equal to the record level of almost 2.5 million teu containers (+13,1%).

That the whole year 2021 has been financially extremely positive for DSV is also confirmed by the succession of records quarterly, with values of turnover, operating margin gross, operating profit and net profit that have reached record levels already in the first quarter and then rise to new record values quarter after quarter, with a last period quarterly of 2021 that was filed in increments +93.3% of revenues compared to the same period of the year previous, +77.3% of EBITDA, +95.5% of EBIT and +169.8% of the net economic result. The fourth quarter of 2021 it was also a record period in terms of shipment volumes seafarers handled by the group that were equal to 706 thousand teu (+28.6), while the volumes of air shipments, with 439 thousand tons, while recording an increase of +35.0% on the last quarter of 2020 were only lower than the record of 442 thousand tons handled in the last quarter of 2019.
