
A new serious accident occurred today in the region
of the Strait of Hormuz where a tanker was
hit by a missile. The bomb hit the product tanker
Settebello, flying the flag of Paalau, which was
built in 1997, has a gross tonnage of 28,400 tons, is
operated by the Emirati IOS Marine - FZE and is owned by
of the Indian Aqua Aurora Shipping Lines. The ship was
hit by the bullet while it was 20 nautical miles northeast
of Sohar, Oman. The accident resulted in the injury of a
seafarer, while two other crew members are
missing.
The Indian embassy in Muscat has announced that it is
monitoring the situation and is in close contact with the
Omani authorities.
