
Yesterday in Turku, Finland, the ceremony of
delivery to the American cruise group Royal Caribbean Cruises
of the new cruise ship
Legend of the Seas which is
was built by the local Meyer Turku shipyard and the next
month will debut in the European market. Unity, in fact,
in the next few days it will sail from Turku bound for Cadiz, in
Spain, where the last interventions will be carried out to prepare
the ship to a series of seven-night cruises in the Mediterranean
western port departing from the ports of Barcelona and Civitavecchia.
In November, the
Legend of the Seas will depart for Fort
Lauderdale, Florida, to carry out a series of cruises in the
Caribbean.
The Legend of the Seas, which is the third ship of
"Icon" class, has a gross tonnage of 250,800
tons, is 365 meters long and can accommodate
a total of about 7,600 people, including 5,610 passengers.
The unit will be powered by liquefied natural gas.
