
Last month, the port of Singapore handled 50.44
million tons of goods, with a decrease of -4.9% compared to
August 2025 determined by the -18.0% reduction in the volume of
oil bulk which fell to 12.62 million
tons. Container traffic also decreased slightly
which totaled 31.33 million tons (-0.8%) with a
container handling of 3.95 million TEUs (+2.3%). The
conventional goods amounted to 2.88 million tonnes
(+8.5%) and non-oil bulk cargo at 3.60 million tons
(+6,4%).
In the first eight months of 2026, the Asian port of call
handled a total of 412.23 million tons of
loads, with an increase of +1.0% over the same period of the
last year. Containerized traffic alone was
249.49 million tonnes (+2.3%) with a handling of
containers equal to 30.68 million TEUs (+4.2%). In the
conventional freight traffic was 22.71 million
tons (+12.7%). Oil bulk cargo stood at
114.81 million tons (-6.7%) and other bulk cargo to 25.22
million tons (+19.4%).
