
The Greek Contships Logistics Corp., through its subsidiary
CLC Newbuildings Inc., has signed a letter of intent with the
Chinese shipyard Hubei Guangji Green Energy Shipbuilding Group
Co. for the construction of 30 new feeder container carriers
generation. The agreement provides for an initial order for 10 units,
with options for two further batches of 10 ships each. The new
ships will be based on the ContshipMax CV1300 project developed in
collaboration with SDARI. The design includes container ships with a
1,324 TEU capacity, with 340 container grips
refrigerated.
Contships currently operates a fleet of 27 container carriers
with a capacity between 900 and 2,000 TEUs.
