NOL RESULTS FALL BY HALF

Singapore's national carrier, Neptune Orient Lines has reported a 50 per cent fall in post-tax profits for the first half of this year to S$5m ($3.35m). The result comes despite an increase in group turnover of eight per cent. NOL has blamed the drop in profits on weak container freight rates in the Asia-north America and Asia-Europe trades.
