[SINGAPORE]

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey is investing heavily in terminals and dredging to try and capture hub port status for the east coast of North America.

The authority is looking to capture a major portion of the projected 1.7 million TEUs (20-ft equivalent units) increase forecast for the North Atlantic by 2015.
