JAPAN FINDS AIR TALKS WITH US TOUGH GOING

An interim aviation deal with the US this week could be harder to reach than first thought, a Japanese Transport Ministry official told reporters yesterday.
"There were views within the ministry that we had a 30 to 40 per cent chance of an agreement this week but after the first day of talks, it seems more difficult," he said.
