FREIGHT RAILROADS CONTRIBUTE $300 MILLION TO WASHINGTON

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- The State of Washington's freight railroads contributed more than $300 million directly to the state economy in 1995 through wages and retirement benefits to current and former railroad workers in the state, according to figures released by the Association of American Railroads (AAR).
