MARITIME COMMISSION WILL DENY U.S. ENTRY TO JAPANESE CARRIERS

WASHINGTON, DC -- The Federal Maritime Commission voted yesterday to order Japanese ships be denied entry at U.S. ports due to the failure of Japanese shippers to pay an estimated $4 million in fines imposed by the FMC in a effort to remove unfair trade practices.
