More containers but tonnage drops at PE

The Port of Port Elizabeth handled a total of 483 706 tons during July this year.
Exports made up 55% of the volume says Portnet's Lize Hayward.
This tonnage is 2% up on June 1998 (47 227 tons) but a 13% drop compared with July last year (559 036 tons).
Growth in container traffic continues, however.
Altogether 18 200 TEUs (six metre equivalent containers) ......
