Court rules transshipment vessels are ocean-going

VESSELS which are used as transshippers can also be treated as ocean-going ships, entitling them to exemption from payment of customs duty, the Indian Supreme Court has ruled.
The question had been raised in three appeals in the case of Union of India and Another versus V M Salgaoncar and Bros (P) Ltd.
